How to have a Tax Prep appointment with Jen!

In person appts may or may not happen this year, I am hoping I will be able to travel to NYC for 2 weeks in March, but it will depend on how things look around Feb 15.

1.  Check out the scheduling page and sign up for an appointment.

2.  Prior to the appointment, fill out the New or Returning Client Intake form and any spreadsheets for deductions to the best of your ability and email it back to jentaxprep@gmail.com, no need to bring receipts unless you have questions about them! Get them here! Make sure the Intake Form is a pdf or doc, and the Spreadsheets are either xls, ods, or a shared Google Sheet.

3.  Prior to the appointment, gather all your income documents - W2s or 1099 from every job, and info about income from other sources such as savings account interest, investments, unemployment etc.  If you are missing a W2, wait to schedule until you have all your documents.  If you know for certain there is no possibility of getting a missing W2, email jentaxprep@gmail.com for possible workaround.  Also note that if your job is on a 1099 (i.e. no taxes taken out) you won't get an 1099 for any amounts less than $600. If you need to email me a W2, let me know and I can send you a a secure link.

4.  Prior to your appointment, gather any other tax documents, such as student loan interest, mortgage interest, and your health insurance documents.  Those are also fine to email!  If they have sensitive info on them, let me know and I can email you a link to send them to me through Sharefile.  Also, if you are a new client, a copy of your 2019 return is also super helpful!

5.  Bring any physical copies of documents and your ID to your appointment.  Be prepared to pay the tax prep fee by cash, check, Paypal, Venmo, or Zelle.  Also bring your bank account and routing number if you want direct deposit/direct debit.

6.  Within a few days, receive an email with a full copy of your return for your records through a Sharefile email.

7.  Treat yourself to some delivered food or booze, you can now stop thinking about 2020!
